Tara has been attending John Calvin Presbyterian Church since she was a little girl with her Grandparents. She became a member in 2000 and has served on the Board of Deacons and has been ordained as an Elder. Tara has enjoyed playing handbells for over 16 years and has been the handbell director at JCPC for about 14 years. Tara works as a User Experience Designer. Tara is married to Jackson Barnum, whom she met at John Calvin, together they have two beautiful children, Elizabeth and Harrison. She enjoys staying active with her children’s activities, co-leads her daughter’s Girl Scout troop, is active in PTO, scrapbooking, and has ran 2 half-marathons.
Tara is proud of the JCPC Handbell Choir. In 2013, Tara directed a Handbell concert at JCPC that was comprised of ten songs. Our Handbell choir was asked to perform at a MAPO awards event as well. In addition, Tara and 4 members of our Handbells were part of a World Record Breaking event to kick off the Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign in Minneapolis, MN, 2016.
