First and foremost is our belief in the existence of God in three persons, known also as the Trinity. We believe that God is the creator and sustainer of all that is in the universe, having the ability to create the “something” of the universe out of nothing. We also believe God became incarnate (in human form) in the presence of Jesus Christ. And we believe that God exists in a Holy Spirit that works in and through our lives. We believe all humans were created in the image of God, to be in relationship and celebration with God.
But, as we understand from the earliest story of humans from the Book of Genesis, sin entered the world and as the Apostle Paul clearly stated, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. This sin was so pervasive in the world that it caused not only our physical death, but our spiritual death as well. Thanks be to God, that in God’s abundant grace, humans were rescued from sin and death, by the faithfulness unto death and the miracle of resurrection in Jesus Christ the Lord.
It is our belief that just as in days long gone by, people all over the world are called to salvation in Jesus Christ and become followers of Christ to preach and teach the “Good News” of Jesus to the world. We believe this takes place best through an institution that Jesus himself spoke of called the Church. This is the place where followers of Jesus and those who are searching come to hear the Word preached, the Sacraments of Baptism and Communion celebrated and are touched by the Holy Spirit to serve Jesus in many ways throughout their lives in the world.
We believe the Bible to be the words of God given to us for instruction and revelation. We believe in the power of prayer, not only for our own journey, but for the obstacles and difficulties facing our loved ones and our brothers and sisters in Christ. And we believe the constant presence of the Holy Spirit that works in our lives so that we may come to know all that God in Jesus Christ has promised to us.
We believe that all people are in need of the Grace of God, the Love of Christ and the Power of the Holy Spirit and we invite all to come be a part of our church from whatever journey they have come from in the past, to know the presence of a personal God in Jesus for today and for tomorrow.
